You Session
Next, you will attend a Your Opportunities Unlimited (YOU) Session at a ADF Careers Centre. The YOU Session includes several tests and an interview to determine the right role for you.

Preparing for The Assessment Session
The next stage in the application process following the YOU Session is the Assessment Session. If the position you've applied for is in critical demand you could attend the Assessment Session shortly after the YOU Session. However, if there are few positions available, or the intake dates are later in the year, you may not attend the Assessment Session for several months.

Assessment Session
After your YOU Session, there’s an Assessment Session. This will include a Medical Assessment, a Psychological Interview and a Defence Interview.

Officer Selection Board
If you’re applying for an Officer role, you’ll have one additional step. The Officer Selection Board will test your leadership skills, teamwork and other individual abilities. You’ll participate in a series of group and individual activities, as well as an interview with a panel of military officers and a psychologist.

Fitness Test
Before you’re enlisted, you must pass the Pre-entry Fitness Assessment (PFA). The PFA includes push-ups and sit-ups and other fitness tests. But don’t worry, you’ll get plenty of time to prepare! There's even an online fitness program to help you get into shape.

Enlistment or Appointment
On your enlistment day, you will undergo a final medical check. Then you'll take part in your welcome ceremony which your family and friends are invited to attend.
